As I mentioned before, I will be installing a Yaesu G-800SA that I bought used. I have also found a great deal on a Cushcraft D4 Rotatable Dipole in great condition (almost new) and I have installed preliminary for tuning, testing, and yes, just to get it on the air :D. The rotator isn't installed yet as I have to do some additional setups on the wall to take the cable inside, getting the dracon cord for the horizontal support of the dipole as it was missing, and to put the mast on it (but been honest, mostly because its cold for me outside), but should be done soon.

It has already proven to be a great improvement on the signal. Both, receive and transmit. I'm really anxious to put it up with the rotator.

Here some pics of the dipole installation:

I installed it with a BalunDesigns 1:1 Balun, that should withstand up to 3/5kW. That should give me plenty of room to install an amplifier in the future even up to legal limit (1500 watts). And let me tell you right away, this balun works like a charm. I already notice the difference from my previous antenna limiting the RF back to my shack. I soldered the connectors on the short cables, and there it goes...

Here is another pic while setting it up on the ground. WOW, that thing is bigger that I thought!!!

The old antenna, the Princeton Antennas 6-80m End-Fed wire, will go to storage as a backup/field antenna can't complain on its performance at all, considering I barely have it at 20 feet height.

Here is the Yaesu rotator, getting ready to deploy. I added the lower mast adapter (GS-038). The rotator is a beast for the use I have for now, but in the future I will be adding a VHF Stacking (2) and a small UHF yagis (Which I have in storage already). Hopefully for then I should get a small tower as well.

I will be finishing this project soon, this is really exciting. Will do a small update about it when its finished, so stay tuned...

73’s for now, DE WEØDX
